Taiz parties condemn the assassination attempt on MP Al-Wafi and demand an investigation.

Political parties and organizations in Taiz Governorate today condemned the assassination attempt on Sheikh Ali Qaed Al-Wafi, a member of the House of Representatives and a member of the parliamentary bloc of the Political Bureau, which took place on Saturday, November 8, 2025, in the Milat area of Jabal Habashi District, during his field visit to the area in response to a request from the front commander to resolve a problem related to the construction of a road serving the people and fighters. A joint statement issued by the branches of: the Nasserist Popular Unity Organization, the Yemeni Socialist Party, the National Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party, the Yemeni Rashad Union, and the Political Bureau of the National Resistance, stated that MP Al-Wafi was subjected to a barrage of bullets fired directly at him and his companions as he approached the site, but he survived the incident, and immediately informed the commander of the Taiz axis, Major General Khaled Fadel, of the details of the incident. The statement condemned the criminal incident and described it as a treacherous and cowardly act, stressing the need to hold all those involved accountable. The parties called on the local authority leadership, the Taiz axis, and the security police to assume their responsibilities in confronting the repeated security lapses, and also called on the Attorney General to form a neutral committee to investigate the incident, take the necessary legal measures, and announce the results of the investigation to the public.
