The General Authority for Regulating Land Transport Affairs clarified that the circular issued by it today regarding not dealing with the "Al-Burraq" transport company concerns internal transport between Yemeni governorates only, and not international transport. In a clarification published a short while ago, the Authority said that some media outlets and newspapers confused the matter between the company's internal and international activities, stressing that Al-Burraq for external transport is not the company intended by the circular, and that the ban only includes the company's internal transport. The Authority thanked Al-Burraq for internal transport for its prompt response and suspension of internal trips, noting that the circular came as a result of operational violations related to the company's failure to maintain buses and adhere to trip schedules, which caused frequent breakdowns and suffering for passengers. The Authority affirmed that it is keen to organize and control the land transport sector in a way that guarantees the safety of passengers and improves the quality of services provided to them, calling on the media to be accurate in publishing news related to the activities of transport companies.
