**Arab Sea - Follow-ups:** Today, Monday, the first phase of the House of Representatives elections began in Egypt. It will last for two days and cover 14 governorates, with approximately 35 million voters heading to the polls to elect their representatives in parliament. This step comes as part of completing the country's political and constitutional roadmap. In the preceding days, Egyptians abroad voted, with more than half a million voters casting their ballots in 117 Egyptian embassies and consulates around the world on Friday and Saturday, reflecting the Egyptian communities' keenness to participate in shaping the future of their homeland. The second phase of the elections is scheduled to begin on November 21 and 22 abroad, followed by the domestic phase on November 24 and 25 in 13 other governorates. These elections come after Egypt held Senate elections last August, which recorded a turnout of 17.1%. This electoral process comes at a time when the country is witnessing efforts to strengthen democratic life and expand citizen participation in decision-making, amid local and international monitoring to ensure the integrity and transparency of the electoral process.
