Arabian Sea - Yemen - Follow-ups: Today, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Dr. Shayea Al-Zindani, discussed with the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, the bilateral relations between the two countries. Minister Al-Zindani praised the strength of the historical fraternal ties that bind the two countries and the two brotherly peoples. Expressing the Yemeni government's aspiration to prepare for holding the strategic dialogue and convening the joint high committee between the two countries, and activating the work of the joint committees in a way that enhances bilateral cooperation in various fields, including encouraging joint investments and economic projects. The meeting also reviewed the overall political situation in the region, foremost of which is the continued Houthi attacks on navigation in the Red Sea, and the threat they pose to the security of global trade, and the direct impact on the economic stability of the two countries and the region in general. The two sides agreed on the importance of continuing consultation and coordination with sister countries, foremost of which is the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to support the Yemeni government and support its efforts in facing security challenges and economic recovery. Emphasis was also placed on developing bilateral cooperation and joint consultation on issues of common interest, in a way that serves mutual interests and reflects the depth of historical ties and strong bonds between the Yemeni and Egyptian peoples.
