Arabian Sea - Yemen - Follow-ups: The Air Forecast and Early Warning Center at the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology expects that the Yemeni coasts will witness humid and hot to very hot weather during the coming hours, tending to be moderate at night and in the morning, with clear to partly cloudy skies, and the possibility of fog formation over parts of Al-Mahra and Hadhramaut, in addition to scattered rainfall, some of which may be thunderstorms, over a number of eastern, southern, and western coastal cities. It also predicted that the atmosphere of Socotra will witness significant wind activity that may reach strong levels. In its daily bulletin, the center explained that the mountainous highlands will be exposed to clear to partly cloudy weather with thunderstorms of varying intensity, which may be accompanied by hail, especially on the western and southern slopes from Saada to Taiz, passing through the governorates of Lahj and Al-Dhalea and extending to Shabwa, Abyan, Al-Bayda, and Hadhramaut. Regarding the desert areas and interior plateaus, the center predicted partly cloudy weather with the possibility of thunderstorms over parts of Shabwa, Marib, and Al-Jawf, amid high temperatures and active winds that stir up dust and dirt. The center warned citizens against being in the paths of torrents and valleys during rainfall, and from the dangers of thunderstorms and rockslides, calling for taking the necessary precautions. It also advised residents of the coasts and deserts to avoid direct exposure to sunlight for long periods and to be wary of humid weather. As for the marine bulletin, it indicates that the sea will be light in wave height on the coasts of Shabwa, Abyan, Aden, Bab al-Mandab, and the western coasts, light to moderate on the coasts of Hadhramaut, and moderate on the coasts of Al-Mahra, while it is expected to be turbulent to very turbulent around the Socotra archipelago and in the Arabian Sea. The center alerted ship captains, fishermen, and seafarers in the Arabian Sea and the vicinity of Socotra to the dangers of sea turbulence and high waves.
