Arab Sea - Follow-ups: The Bridges Security Administration, affiliated with the Public Security Directorate in Jordan, announced the reopening of the King Hussein Bridge to passenger traffic today, Sunday, while the commercial crossing (freight) will remain closed until further notice. The Public Security Directorate called on bridge users to adhere to the specified times to save their effort and time. This came after Jordan announced last Thursday the suspension of passenger traffic through the King Hussein Bridge after it was closed from the other side following a shooting at the "Allenby Crossing" that led to the death of two Israelis. Jordan affirmed its condemnation and rejection of the shooting incident that occurred on the other side of the King Hussein Bridge (Karameh Crossing), considering it a violation of the law and a threat to Jordan's interests and its ability to deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press statement that Jordanian official agencies have begun an investigation into the shooting incident. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed Jordan's firm position in condemning all acts of violence and rejecting all illegal acts that harm Jordan's interests, its role, and the delivery of aid to the Gaza Strip.
