Arabian Sea - Yemen - Follow-ups: The Houthi group has intensified arrest campaigns among academics and students at the universities of Sana'a and Hodeidah, due to their refusal to participate in propaganda activities and events organized by the group on the occasion of the anniversary of the September 21 coup. Academic sources confirmed to "Al-Sharq Al-Awsat" that 18 members of Sana'a University, including professors, employees, and students, were arrested and placed in secret prisons, after being accused of "treason and collaboration," while similar pressure and threats were observed at the University of Hodeidah, including threats of dismissal and imprisonment for those who refuse to participate. Academics describe the anniversary of the Houthis' invasion of the capital, Sana'a, as a "catastrophic day," warning against the continued targeting of universities and their use for political and sectarian purposes at the expense of the quality of education and the rights of those working in it.
