Yemen: Meteorology Department expects thunderstorms in several areas and warns of sea disturbances.

Arabian Sea - Yemen - Follow-ups: The Air Forecast and Early Warning Center at the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology predicted today, Saturday, thunderstorms of varying intensity in a number of coastal, mountainous, and desert areas, accompanied by a decrease in horizontal visibility and active winds, with hot weather on the coasts and deserts, and moderate weather at night. In its daily bulletin, the center explained that the weather will be partly cloudy and humid on the southern and eastern coasts, with the possibility of scattered thunderstorms, while the winds will be light to moderate, active on the Socotra archipelago. It pointed out that the mountainous highlands will witness partly cloudy weather, with the possibility of heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms, extending from Saada in the north to Lahj in the south, and including Al-Dhalea, Al-Bayda, the highlands of Abyan, and parts of Shabwa, Hadramout, and Al-Mahra. The center also predicted that the weather in the desert and plateau areas will be hot during the day and moderate at night, with chances of thunderstorms on the deserts of Hadramout, Marib, and Al-Jawf, and moderate to active winds. The following are the expected maximum and minimum temperatures for Saturday: Coasts: Aden (36/30), Mukalla (35/29), Hodeidah (37/30), Socotra (34/25) Deserts and plateaus: Seiyun (39/25), Marib (38/26), Ataq (36/25) Highlands: Sana'a (28/16), Taiz (29/19), Dhamar (27/12), Ibb (25/15) In the marine bulletin, the center predicted that the sea will be light to moderate waves on the southern and western coasts, while it will be moderate to turbulent around the Socotra archipelago and in the waters of the Arabian Sea. The center called on citizens and vehicle drivers to be cautious, avoid being in the paths of torrents and valleys, and beware of lightning, especially in areas where rain is expected. It also warned fishermen and ship captains of sea disturbances and high waves, especially in the Arabian Sea and the waters surrounding Socotra.
