Arab Sea - Follow-ups: Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares affirmed that his country is working closely with Riyadh to stop the killings and humanitarian disaster in Gaza, and to promote new hope for peace in the region, based on the establishment of a Palestinian state alongside Israel. The minister said that "we will continue our efforts until the State of Palestine is accepted into the United Nations, and a realistic and viable Palestinian state is established in Gaza and the West Bank, under a unified Palestinian authority with access to the sea, and its capital in East Jerusalem." In another context, the minister acknowledged his country's readiness to supply Ukraine with weapons, while stressing the need for American guarantees to translate President Donald Trump's vision for resolving the Russian-Ukrainian crisis. Regarding the Spanish relationship with Saudi Arabia, the minister said that Riyadh "is the most important trading partner for our country in the region." He added that "our commitment to strengthening our partnership is reinforced by our common interests, and at the diplomatic level, Saudi Arabia is a major regional partner, and we look forward to raising the level of our strategic relations in the near future."
