Arabian Sea - Yemen - Follow-ups: A Yemeni government delegation, headed by the Minister of State, Governor of Aden, Ahmed Lamlas, visited the Yangshan Deep Water Port in Shanghai, China, today, Wednesday, as part of the official visit the delegation is making to the People's Republic of China in the context of the activities dedicated to celebrating the 30th anniversary of the twinning of the cities of Aden and Shanghai. During the visit, the delegation received a detailed presentation from the port's management, which is considered the first digital port in the world, on its infrastructure and modern operating systems, including self-propelled mechanisms, automated handling technologies, intelligent inspection, and container handling, in addition to technical innovations that enhance the efficiency of operations and contribute to facilitating the movement of shipping and maritime transport. Lamlas praised the qualitative developments taking place at the port, stressing the importance of strengthening joint cooperation between the port of Aden and leading global ports, and benefiting from the Chinese experience in the field of modern management and logistics services. He also presented a commemorative shield on behalf of the Free Zone and the Port of Aden to the Shanghai Port Authority, in an expression of the Yemeni side's appreciation for the growing bilateral relations.
