**Arabian Sea - Ahmed Al-Salehi:** **Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Ismail Baghaei, affirmed on Wednesday that the severance of relations between Tehran and Damascus is not considered permanent, stressing that Iran considers itself a "friend of the Syrian people" and believes that the future of Syria must be determined through the participation of all national and social components.** **Baghaei said during a press conference that the repeated Israeli attacks on Syrian territory are "categorically condemned," stressing Iran's adherence to "the unity and sovereignty of Syrian territory."** **Regarding the possibility of resuming relations, Baghaei clarified that Iran is not in a hurry, pointing out that "relations will be resumed when it becomes clear that its friendship is in the interest of the Syrian people," noting that there is a mutual desire to restore relations at the appropriate time.** **The transitional Syrian President, Ahmed Al-Shara, said last Saturday that "there is no permanent break between Damascus and Tehran," considering that Israeli policies reflect a clear dissatisfaction with the end of Syria's role as a confrontation front for Iran.** **Iran had closed its embassy in Damascus and transferred Revolutionary Guard fighters and allied militias days before the fall of the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's regime in December.**
