Arabian Sea - Yemen - Follow-ups: The international organization "Samaritan's Purse," in cooperation with the Pulse of Life Foundation, organized today in the temporary capital, Aden, a "Day of Hope" celebration, in celebration of the success of the second phase of the open-heart surgery project for children with congenital defects, which was implemented by the organization in coordination with the Ministry of Public Health and Population and the Pulse of Life Foundation in Mukalla. The Minister of Public Health and Population in the legitimate government, Dr. Qasim Buhaibeh, praised the significant role played by Samaritan's Purse and the Pulse of Life Foundation, appreciating the efforts of the medical and technical teams that worked in a spirit of teamwork to restore life to the hearts of children and support the national health system at the same time. He emphasized that these successes were achieved thanks to the efforts of the "unsung heroes" who showed dedication and sincerity to the success of the project, calling for the continuation of quality initiatives that contribute to alleviating the suffering of patients. Meanwhile, the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for the Planning Sector, Dr. Jalal Baawda, reviewed the various stages of the project. Speeches were given by the Regional Director of the organization, Daniel, the Country Director, Peter Kinuthia, the Executive Director of the Pulse of Life Foundation, Muhammad Bashuaib, in addition to the pediatric heart surgeon, Dr. Abdul-Moneim Adam, and the families of the beneficiary children, all emphasizing the importance of the project as a successful humanitarian program that saved the lives of dozens of children. The celebration included artistic and entertainment performances for children and their families, in addition to providing an overview of the stages of the project and its humanitarian and health impact. The Minister of Health also honored a number of medical and technical staff in the organization and the Pulse of Life Foundation in recognition of their distinguished efforts. It is worth mentioning that the project was able during the period 2024-2025 to perform 41 delicate open-heart surgeries for children with complete success, which constituted a glimmer of hope for dozens of families who were facing great difficulties with congenital heart diseases in their children.
