Arabian Sea - Yemen - Follow-ups: The Republic of Yemen participated today in the opening of the Middle East Oil & Gas Show and Conference (MEOS GEO 2025), held in Manama, the capital of Bahrain, with a delegation headed by the Minister of Oil and Minerals, Dr. Saeed Al-Shamasi. The opening session, attended by oil and petroleum ministers in the region, representatives of major international energy companies, and more than 17,000 industry leaders, experts, and academics from around the world, discussed topics related to the future of energy, most notably strengthening regional and international cooperation, exchanging scientific and technical expertise, reviewing the latest innovations in geological sciences and exploration and production technologies, in addition to opening new investment horizons in the energy sector, and discussing the challenges of transitioning to clean energy and reducing carbon emissions. The Yemeni News Agency (Saba) quoted the Minister of Oil and Minerals as confirming that the conference represents a strategic platform for enhancing cooperation between countries in the region and international companies, pointing out that Yemen has promising and diverse opportunities in the fields of oil, gas, and minerals, in addition to its vital geographical location overlooking the Arabian Sea, the Gulf of Aden, Bab al-Mandab, and the Red Sea, making it a strategic storage and investment area at the regional and global levels. Al-Shamasi affirmed the readiness of the Ministry of Oil and Minerals, under the directives of the political leadership, to provide all facilities and privileges to investors wishing to work in the energy sector in Yemen. He also expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Bahraini Ministry of Oil and Environment, led by Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak bin Daina, in organizing this international event, which brings together a select group of leaders and experts to discuss the security of energy supplies and future challenges, and to come up with a unified vision that contributes to enhancing integration and developing the energy industry in the region and the world.
