The Public Prosecution in Kuwait has referred a second case against former MP Muhammad Al-Mutair on charges of insulting the Emir to the head of the court to set a hearing date. The defendant was absent from the session, and it was decided to take the necessary measures to reschedule the session before the new circuit. It is worth mentioning that Al-Mutair is facing another case with the same charge, which is being considered by the Court of Appeal, and he had previously been acquitted in the Court of First Instance. In early May, the Kuwaiti judiciary ruled on a lawsuit filed by the former Speaker of the National Assembly, Marzouq Al-Ghanim, against former MP Muhammad Al-Mutair, confirming in two rulings, "primary and appeal," that the latter did not provide proof of his claims, which he made more than once, regarding the so-called "black file," especially with regard to the appointment of 65 employees in the office of the Speaker of the National Assembly. The court also ruled "obligating the defendant to pay the plaintiff the amount of 5,001 Kuwaiti dinars as temporary compensation, and obligated him to pay expenses and the amount of two hundred Kuwaiti dinars for actual attorney's fees."
