Arabian Sea - Yemen - Follow-ups: Human rights organizations have condemned the storming of the office of Deputy Minister of Information Hussein Baslim in Aden by elements affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and forcibly handing it over to another person appointed by a decision outside the constitutional and legal frameworks. The National Organization of Yemeni Journalists "Sada" considered the incident an attack on state institutions and their media symbols, embodying a state of chaos and absence of the state in the interim capital, Aden, and a serious violation of the law. For its part, SAM Organization for Rights and Liberties said that the continuation of these practices will lead to deepening institutional chaos, multiply the challenges facing Yemenis, and undermine any efforts aimed at building a state based on the rule of law and justice. The two organizations called on the President and members of the Presidential Council and the government to take urgent measures to hold the perpetrators of the raid accountable and commit to a path that guarantees institutional stability. The Southern Transitional Council has begun implementing the decisions of its president, Aidaroos al-Zubaidi, regarding appointments in the government and local authorities, although these powers constitutionally belong to the head of the Presidential Leadership Council. A force affiliated with the Transitional Council stormed the office of the Deputy Minister of Information and Culture, Hussein Baslim, in the interim capital, Aden, yesterday morning, Sunday, and handed it over to Salah Al-Aql, who was appointed by a decision from Al-Zubaidi. According to identical sources, military vehicles loaded with armed men arrived at the building and surrounded the place, before the elements broke the lock and entered by force after Baslim apologized for not attending.
