Arabian Sea - Yemen - Follow-ups: The United Nations Office in Yemen said that the Resident Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs, Julien Harneis, called during a meeting in Sana'a today, Sunday, with the humanitarian affairs official of the Houthi group, Ismail al-Mutawakel, for the immediate and unconditional release of all detained humanitarian workers. According to a statement, the UN official also called for the evacuation of the organization's offices and the return of confiscated assets. The office added that Harneis stressed that respecting the privileges and immunities of the United Nations and adhering to international humanitarian law are essential to ensuring the continued access of humanitarian aid. The statement indicated that the UN official briefed al-Mutawakel on the recent UN resolutions regarding the safety and security of its staff.
