Arabian Sea - Yemen - Follow-ups: The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in the unrecognized Houthi government, Abdulwahid Abu Ras, sent a message to the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the President of the Security Council, which was circulated to all member states of the United Nations, the European Union, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, and the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen. The message included official condemnation of the Zionist entity's targeting of the capital Sana'a and Al-Jawf Governorate last Wednesday, explaining that the raids targeted a media institution in a residential neighborhood, a gas station, and a government complex, which led to the death of 46 people and the injury of 165 others in an initial toll, including journalists, children, and women, and damage to the homes of many citizens and the National Museum in Sana'a. Abu Ras considered these actions a flagrant violation of the United Nations Charter, the sovereignty of Yemen, and international and humanitarian law, noting that the attack comes two weeks after the targeting of the head of the government of change and construction and a number of his ministers, in a crime he described as "a dangerous precedent in relations between countries." He added that Israel seeks to mislead the international community with claims of targeting military objectives, while it has continued since July 20, 2024, to target civilians and civilian facilities such as airports, ports, power and fuel stations, and factories, which reflects its "bankruptcy and military failure." Abu Ras affirmed that Yemen will continue to exercise its legitimate right to self-defense, calling on the international community to realize the seriousness of these practices, which threaten not only Yemen and the region, but the entire world. The statement also indicated that the United States is a partner in these crimes through its continued support for Israel, and called on the United Nations, the Security Council, and the international community to take action to force the Israeli entity to stop its aggression against Gaza and Yemen, warning that international silence encourages the continuation of these violations. The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs concluded his message by affirming Yemen's continued support for the Palestinian people and their fighters until the end of the aggression and the siege imposed on Gaza for more than 700 days.
