Arabian Sea - Yemen - Follow-ups: Residents of the Socotra archipelago have launched an urgent appeal to local and international bodies to intervene in search and rescue operations following the loss of contact with a small vessel for more than ten days in the Arabian Sea, carrying six people from the island. Local sources said that the missing vessel, named Viber, was carrying two young men from the archipelago with its crew, in addition to a shipment of cooking gas that hundreds of families rely on in their daily lives. They indicated that the last contact with the ship was on September 9th, before it was completely cut off, raising fears that it had suffered an accident at sea. According to the sources, this incident is not the first of its kind, as the archipelago frequently loses its sons in dangerous sea voyages, in the absence of the necessary support and readiness to face such disasters. In their appeal, the residents of the archipelago called on the naval coalition forces operating in the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea, as well as international and humanitarian organizations, to take urgent action to intensify search and rescue operations for the missing persons. The people of Socotra hope that a quick response will result in saving the lives of the missing, stressing that saving them represents a supreme humanitarian value that requires urgent international cooperation.
