Arabian Sea - Yemen - Follow-ups: The Yemeni Coalition for Human Rights condemned today, Saturday, the Israeli airstrikes that targeted densely populated residential neighborhoods in the capital, Sana'a, and Al-Hazm District in Al-Jawf Governorate, which – according to a statement from the Ministry of Health in Sana'a – resulted in more than 211 civilians killed and wounded, including women and children, while rescue teams are still searching for victims under the rubble of destroyed homes. The coalition considered what happened to be a "full-fledged war crime" under international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions, holding Israel fully responsible for targeting civilians and residential areas. It also described the attack as a "flagrant violation" of the United Nations Charter, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and Security Council resolutions on the protection of civilians. In the same context, the coalition held the Houthi group morally responsible for "dragging areas under its control into the furnace of conflict and opening the door to Israeli interventions," calling on it to prioritize the interests of the Yemeni people and stop the military escalation that exacerbates the suffering of civilians. The statement called on the international community, the United Nations, and the Security Council to take urgent action to stop the attacks and hold those responsible accountable, warning that the international community's silence "encourages more bloodshed and the destruction of innocent lives."
