Arab Sea - Yemen - Follow-ups: Local sources reported the death of the young man, Muhammad Arif Al-Raimi (19 years old), in one of the Houthi group's prisons in the Sufyan district, north of Amran Governorate, after being severely tortured during his detention in the Al-Amshiya section. The sources stated that Al-Raimi, who worked on a qat farm, was arrested a week ago on charges of stealing a quantity of qat, noting that he was severely beaten, his fingers were attempted to be broken, and he was electrocuted, as evidenced by the prominent marks on his body. While the Houthi group claimed that the young man committed suicide by hanging himself inside the prison, his family rejected this account and announced their refusal to receive his body after the group insisted on burying him quickly and closing the case. The family demanded the formation of a neutral committee to investigate the circumstances of the death and reveal those involved in torturing their son.
