The Yemeni Peace Committee: The Zionist Aggression Against Old Sana'a and the National Museum is a War Crime Yemen – Arabian Sea The Yemeni Peace Committee, in a strongly worded statement, condemned the Zionist bombing that targeted Old Sana'a and the National Museum, considering it "a full-fledged war crime against the common human heritage." The statement affirmed that the walls of Old Sana'a shook and the dust of its majestic mud houses scattered, in a scene that summarizes the enormity of the destruction and aggression against a city that has stood for centuries. It also pointed out that targeting the National Museum with its rare artifacts is a blatant violation of the 1954 Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict. The committee called on UNESCO and the United Nations to take urgent action to document the damage and hold the leaders of the Zionist enemy accountable, stressing that the protection of Yemeni heritage is "a global duty that does not concern the Yemeni people alone." The following is the text of the statement Statement of Condemnation and Strong Denunciation Issued by the Yemeni Peace Committee Crimes of the Zionist Enemy... God be with you, Sana'a! With great anger and denunciation, the Yemeni Peace Committee is following what Old Sana'a - registered on the World Heritage List - has been subjected to from a brutal Zionist bombing that targeted its identity and cultural memory. Its ancient walls shook, and the dust of its majestic mud houses scattered, in a scene that summarizes the enormity of the destruction and Zionist aggression against a city that has stood for centuries. The attack also extended to the National Museum in Dar Al-Saada, where its windows were shattered and its unique collections were endangered, despite being officially listed under the protection of UNESCO and the care of the World Heritage Center in Paris. What happened is not just a targeting of archaeological buildings, but a systematic war crime against global human heritage, and a blatant violation of the 1954 Hague Convention, which prohibits attacks on cultural property in times of conflict. The Yemeni Peace Committee: 1. Condemns in the strongest terms this Zionist aggression, and affirms that it is a crime that does not lapse with time. 2. Denounces the suspicious international silence, especially on the part of UNESCO and the Security Council. 3. Demands urgent action to send an international mission to document the damage and protect the affected heritage sites. 4. Calls on the United Nations and international courts to include these crimes in the files of violations against cultural heritage and hold the leaders of the Zionist enemy accountable as war criminals. Targeting Old Sana'a and the National Museum is a stab in the heart of civilization and an aggressive message against the common human memory. Unless the world acts immediately, its silence will remain a witness to its inaction before history. God be with you, Sana'a, for civilization is higher than bombs, and identity is more enduring than aggression. Sana'a - Thursday, September 11, 2025 The Yemeni Peace Committee
