Arab Sea - Follow-ups: Tel Aviv has threatened to launch a new strike targeting Hamas leaders in Qatar after the Palestinian movement's leaders survived a deadly attack launched by Israeli fighters on Doha on Tuesday, stressing the "independence" of its decisions from the United States. Israel's ambassador to the United States, Yehiel Leiter, said that any possible error in targeting the strike that hit Doha will not be repeated, stressing that "next time it will hit the targets directly," as he put it. Israeli Channel 12 quoted Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, as saying that Tel Aviv does not always make its military decisions in line with American interests. He added: "Sometimes we inform Washington in advance, and sometimes during implementation, and in the end, we bear the responsibility." The Israeli army announced that it carried out an air strike on Tuesday in Doha targeting senior Hamas leaders, which in turn confirmed the survival of its targeted negotiators, announcing the death of six people in this unprecedented attack in Qatar, which affirmed that it "reserves the right to respond." In Washington, US President Donald Trump told reporters, "I am simply not happy with the whole situation," adding, "We want the hostages back, but we are not happy with the way things went today." The White House said that Trump "sees Qatar as a strong ally and a friendly country to the United States and feels very uncomfortable with the location where this attack took place." While the US presidency announced that Trump's envoy had informed Qatar in advance of the Israeli attack, Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majid Al-Ansari said that the call made by "an American official came during hearing the sound of explosions resulting from the Israeli attack in Doha." The Qatari Amiri Diwan announced that the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, received a call from President Trump in which he affirmed his solidarity with Qatar and his condemnation of the attack, stressing that the Israeli attack will not be repeated.
