Arab Sea_Agencies: An Israeli airstrike targeted a car near the town of Jiyyeh, located about 30 kilometers south of Beirut, according to the official National News Agency. The agency reported, "A hostile drone targeted a car near the Zarout mosque area, between the towns of Jiyyeh and Barja in the Iqlim al-Kharroub region." This raid comes a day after a series of Israeli airstrikes on eastern Lebanon that killed five people, according to the Ministry of Health. The Israeli army said that it targeted Hezbollah sites. Hezbollah confirmed yesterday that the five killed in the Israeli raids on Lebanon were its fighters, according to the Lebanese News Agency. Israel said that the Iranian-backed Hezbollah uses these sites for training and preparing for attacks against Israeli soldiers and storing weapons in violation of agreements between Israel and Lebanon. The Israeli army vowed that it would continue to strike Hezbollah sites to prevent it from rebuilding its military capabilities and to eliminate threats against Israel.
