**Arabian Sea_Reuters:** The Secretary-General of the Sudanese Popular Congress, Dr. Ali Al-Hajj, warned citizens against returning to the capital, Khartoum, pointing to a dangerous chemical contamination resulting from the use of internationally prohibited weapons by Port Sudan forces. Al-Hajj, in his capacity as a doctor, confirmed that Port Sudan forces had used these weapons previously with the knowledge of the armed movements, criticizing what he described as the "silence of the movements" regarding these violations. He considered ignoring the issue a direct threat to the lives of civilians and revealing a lack of transparency in dealing with the environmental and health risks resulting from the war. Despite statements by officials in the Port Sudan government about the stability of the security situation, citizens in Khartoum pointed to the continued spread of weapons and criminal operations, including murder and looting under threat, in addition to the widespread outbreak of epidemics and fevers, reflecting a contradiction between official statements and the reality on the ground. This controversy comes at a sensitive time, as demands are escalating for the opening of an independent international investigation into allegations of the use of chemical weapons, amid calls to postpone the return to Khartoum until the issuance of neutral technical reports revealing the extent of the pollution and its danger to public health.
