The Misdemeanors Prosecution and the Joint Oversight Campaign in Taiz Governorate closed down today pharmaceutical companies that violated the official pricing set by the local authority and the branch of the Supreme Authority for Medicines. The Governorate's Undersecretary for Health Affairs, Dr. Ilan Abdul Haq, confirmed during an inspection campaign the closure of Cairo Mayas Pharmaceuticals Company, Royal Pharma Company, Al-Afaq Jet Company, Al-Maitami Pharmaceuticals Establishment, Vega Pharma Company, and Al-Nour Company, after they refused to comply with the pricing, and their files were referred to the Public Prosecution to complete the necessary legal procedures. The Governorate's Undersecretary stressed that any manipulation or exploitation of drug prices will be met with strict measures, stressing that the local authorities and the competent authorities will not tolerate violators in order to preserve the citizen's right to obtain medicine at the official price. Dr. Ilan Abdul Haq also confirmed that the oversight campaigns will continue continuously to control the market, ensure the stability of drug prices, and protect citizens from any illegal practices.
