**Arabian Gulf_Reuters:** Hamas called on Monday for escalating engagement, saying that "striking the security depth" after the shooting in East Jerusalem is "a natural response to the occupation's crimes and the war of extermination it is waging against our people, and it is a clear message that its plans to occupy and destroy the city of Gaza and desecrate the Al-Aqsa Mosque will not pass without punishment," as it put it. In a statement, the movement added that "the occupation's continued aggression against our Palestinian people in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem will not weaken the resolve of our people and their resistance. This operation in the heart of the city of Jerusalem strikes its security depth and confirms the determination of our rebellious youth and our valiant resistance to continue on the path of resistance and confront the fascist aggression," as it put it. The statement added: "The enemy's criminal projects and its attempts to subjugate our Palestinian people or break the will of their resistance will not succeed, nor will its illusions of burying the resistance or displacing our people from their land and homes be realized; all of this will be shattered in the face of the will and valor of our people, their valiant resistance, and their free and proud youth." The statement concluded: "We value the steadfastness and resistance of our youth in the occupied West Bank, and we call on our steadfast masses to escalate engagement with the occupation and its settlers, and to challenge its criminal army and its security and military measures, in support of our people and our holy sites, and in confirmation of our right to freedom and liberation from the occupation." Israeli media announced on Monday that 6 people were killed and 14 others were injured in a shooting at the Ramot intersection in occupied Jerusalem. The Israeli police said in a brief statement, "We eliminated two people who carried out a shooting at the Ramot intersection." The Israeli army announced the closure of all entrances leading to the city of Jerusalem after the operation. For its part, the newspaper "Israel Hayom" said that "the two people who carried out the attack in Jerusalem came from the West Bank, and most likely from one of the villages of Ramallah." It added that Netanyahu informed the court judges that he would not attend his trial session scheduled for today due to security developments. News platforms on the "X" platform circulated video clips of the shooting in occupied Jerusalem. Some news platforms reported that the attack targeted a bus in the city of Jerusalem, noting that the number of injured so far has reached 20 people, including serious cases.
