Arabian Sea - Yemen - Follow-ups: Minister of Endowments and Guidance, Mohammed Ayda Shabiba, directed the directors-general of the Endowments and Guidance offices in the governorates, imams of mosques, preachers, and guides to perform the eclipse prayer this evening, Sunday, Rabi' al-Awwal 15, 1447 AH, corresponding to September 7, 2025 AD. The ministry confirmed in an official announcement that the eclipse prayer will be held after the Isha prayer if the expectations of a total lunar eclipse are realized, calling for abundant supplication, seeking forgiveness, and reciting the Quran, following the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. The ministry quoted the noble prophetic hadith: "The sun and the moon are two signs from the signs of God, with which God frightens His servants, and they do not eclipse for the death of anyone, so if you see anything of them, pray and supplicate until what is afflicting you is relieved," stressing that this ritual is a prophetic Sunnah when an eclipse occurs until it clears. The ministry concluded its announcement by praying that God would avert all evil and harm from Yemen and the Muslim countries. Yemen and most countries in the region are expected to witness a rare total lunar eclipse this Sunday evening that will last for several hours, according to the predictions of astronomical centers, giving residents the opportunity to follow it with the naked eye if the atmosphere is clear. The total lunar eclipse begins today, Sunday, at 7:27:06 PM and ends at 10:56:34 PM.
