Arabian Sea - Yemen - Follow-ups: The police in Shahn District, Al Mahrah Governorate, thwarted an attempt to establish the first local drug manufacturing lab, in a qualitative operation that resulted in the arrest of a criminal network that was planning to manufacture huge quantities of Captagon pills and crystal meth. The security services explained that the lab was equipped with integrated machinery, equipment, and quality control laboratories, with a production capacity estimated at more than 35,000 Captagon pills per hour and 13 kilograms of crystal meth per day, which reveals the extent of the funding and regional organization behind the attempt. The operation came after weeks of intelligence investigations, led by Dr. Rashid Al-Salahi, Deputy Director of Security - Director of Criminal Investigation in Shahn, and under the judicial supervision of Judge Saeed Badinar, Deputy Prosecutor of Shahn, and Lieutenant Colonel Naji Al-Masaabi. It resulted in the arrest of six Yemeni defendants, while investigations revealed the involvement of elements from Arab countries in the plan. In the field, the operation was supervised by Brigadier General Mufti Suhail Samouda, Director General of Police and Security of the Governorate, and Brigadier General Ahmed Ali Ra'fit, Deputy Director of Security - Director of Criminal Investigation in the Governorate, with direct judicial follow-up from Judge Hani Balhaf, Head of the Specialized Criminal Prosecution, to ensure the integrity of procedures and the collection of evidence. Dr. Al-Salahi confirmed that this preemptive strike represents protection for national and regional security before the lab begins operating. Judge Badinar described the seizure of a lab of this size as a "dangerous precedent" that reveals the intentions of international gangs to turn Yemen from a transit point into a drug-producing country. Brigadier General Samouda and Judge Balhaf praised the security achievement, stressing that the Yemeni security services remain the first line of defense in the face of the dangers of transnational organized crime.
