Arabian Sea - Yemen - Follow-ups: The Public Prosecution in the internationally recognized Yemeni government announced today the completion of the burial of 58 unidentified bodies that were preserved in the central forensic medicine refrigerators at Al-Jumhouria and Al-Sadaqa hospitals in Aden. According to a statement by the Public Prosecution, 37 bodies were transferred from Al-Jumhouria Hospital after dawn prayers on Sunday and buried, while the second phase was completed today with the burial of an additional 21 bodies from Al-Sadaqa Hospital, bringing the total number to 58 bodies. The prosecution pointed out that the burials were carried out under the directives of Attorney General Judge Qaher Mustafa and Minister of Justice Judge Badr Al-Aarda, and in coordination with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), in the Abu Harba cemetery in the Al-Buraiqa district, Aden Governorate. The Director-General of the National Center for Forensic Medicine at the Ministry of Justice, Judge Saleh Bashafa'i, explained that this step came in response to the directives of the Attorney General and the Minister of Justice to address the problem of the accumulation of bodies in hospital refrigerators, especially in light of the frequent power outages. He confirmed that the burial was carried out after the completion of all legal procedures by the Public Prosecution, from preparing files for the deceased, photographing them, and issuing orders for their burial, and in direct coordination with the Red Cross, in accordance with approved international standards. Bashafa'i added that all data related to the bodies were accurately documented by placing identification numbers on their wrists, recording information on the tombstones, and saving records electronically and on paper, allowing for future reference when the identities of the deceased are identified by their relatives.
