Private - Yafa The Director-General of Sarar Yafa District in Abyan Governorate, Dr. Bassam Al-Talibi, and the Planning and Survey Officer at Yemen Mobile Telecommunications Company, Engineer Nibras Ahmed Mohammed, handed over yesterday, Thursday, the site of the project to establish a telecommunications station and tower on the summit of Mount "Umoffej" in the Kalsam area, in a step that reflects a growing interest in strengthening the telecommunications infrastructure in remote areas. The official handover of the site was to the civil engineer assigned by the Projects Department of "Yemen Mobile" to conduct the necessary technical study for the construction of the tower, in the presence of the Director of the Finance Office in the district, Mukhtar Al-Yousifi, and a number of social and prominent figures in the region. The project also aims to improve and expand the scope of telecommunications services to include the areas and villages of Kalsam, Qard, Al Karam, Mahbala, and the Sathan area, in addition to parts of the Habil Jabr District in Lahj Governorate, which have suffered for years from severe weakness or near-total lack of communication services. Dr. Bassam Al-Talibi pointed to the efforts of Yemen Mobile Company and its keenness to deliver its services to rural areas deprived of the most basic necessities of life, stressing that the local authority in the district will remain a supportive partner for all development projects, especially those that enhance the presence of basic services in the district's areas. Al-Talibi confirmed that preparations are underway to hand over a second site within the next two days in the village of "Al-Fara," with the aim of preparing the necessary technical studies for the construction of another telecommunications tower to cover the "Amsdara" area and parts of "Hattat" and the villages extending along the Sarar Valley and the eastern side, in addition to the population centers located on the northern side of the district. This project is part of a series of development initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life and upgrading the infrastructure of the telecommunications sector in rural and remote areas.
