A former Yemeni official files a report with the Public Prosecutor accusing government officials of corruption. Arab Sea - Special Yemeni citizen Ibrahim Al-Jahmi submitted an official report to the Public Prosecutor, Judge Qaher Mustafa Ali, via his Facebook page, accusing officials in the legitimate government of committing violations and widespread administrative and financial corruption, demanding an urgent investigation into these issues. Al-Jahmi said in his report, in which he declared his readiness to bear full legal responsibility for it, that corruption had reached an "intolerable level" in state institutions, and had become - according to his description - one of the most prominent causes of citizens' suffering and the prolongation of the war. The report, which Al-Jahmi published on his Facebook page, included accusations of abuses in what is known as the "subsistence allowance," which he said had turned from a means of supporting fighters and displaced persons into a tool for favoritism, noting that he had evidence of the inclusion of names through illegal relationships. Al-Jahmi also pointed to other incidents related to what he described as "smuggling bags of money to luxury hotels," as well as "appointments based on kinship and personal interests," stressing that he possessed documents and official records proving what was stated in his report. Al-Jahmi called on the Public Prosecutor to refer his report to the competent authorities and investigate the issues raised, stressing his readiness to present the evidence through his lawyer in Aden. He concluded his report by asking whether the Public Prosecutor "will be able to overcome corruption and triumph for the Yemenis, or will corruption overcome the institutions of justice," as he put it. It is worth mentioning that Al-Jahmi previously held the position of Attaché for Expatriate Affairs to Egypt and North Africa.
