Arabian Sea - Yemen - Follow-ups: The Minister of Interior in the legitimate government, Major General Ibrahim Haidan, discussed today in Aden with the Ambassador of the Republic of Somalia, Abdul Hakim Mohammed Ahmed, ways to enhance security cooperation between the two countries, in light of the common challenges facing the region. The meeting discussed the conditions of the Somali community in Yemen, and security coordination to confront the threats posed by armed militias to the security of the Arabian Sea and international navigation, in addition to the importance of exchanging information to enhance stability in the Horn of Africa. The Minister stressed the importance of the historical relations between Yemen and Somalia, calling for expanding security cooperation in a way that serves the interests of the two peoples. For his part, the Somali ambassador expressed his country's appreciation for Yemen in embracing the Somali community, stressing Mogadishu's desire to develop the security partnership to face regional challenges.
