Arabian Sea - Yemen - Special: According to the National Committee for Regulating and Financing Imports, requests for exchange and external coverage for commodity imports reached 91 applications with a total value exceeding $39.6 million last week. Fifteen banks and three exchange companies participated in submitting the requests, while the Sovereign Revenue Committee praised the interaction of banks and exchange companies, considering this interaction an important step to ensure the continued flow of basic goods to the market and to calm price fluctuations that directly affect citizens. This comes within the government's efforts to ensure the stability of food and essential commodity prices, and to enhance the strategic stock, in parallel with continuous monitoring of the movement of funds to ensure that financing reaches importers effectively. The committee affirms that the continued support from the banking and exchange sector enhances the ability to meet the needs of the local market, reduces inflationary risks on families, which contributes to protecting the purchasing power of citizens and the stability of the national economy.
