Arabian Sea - Yemen - Follow-ups: The Prime Minister, Dr. Salem Saleh bin Brik, affirmed the government's keenness to activate the performance of the General Investment Authority and improve its procedures to attract local and foreign investments, and to provide the necessary environment and services for investors to benefit from the available incentives and exemptions, considering investment as a fundamental pillar for achieving economic stability and promoting growth. This came during two meetings he held today, Thursday, in the interim capital, Aden, with the leaders of the General Investment Authority and the General Land Authority, where he stressed the need to move the investment file in parallel with the economic reforms that have positively reflected on the stability of the exchange rate, overcome difficulties for investors, and address the challenges facing the implementation of projects. In a related context, the Prime Minister directed the General Land Authority to grant a final opportunity to investors who are not committed to implementing their projects on the lands allocated to them, before taking legal measures to cancel contracts and withdraw those lands and harness them to serve development and serious investments. He also stressed the need to enumerate violations and illegal actions and tampering with state lands, and protect them from encroachment and attacks in coordination with the concerned authorities, with the commitment of local authorities to the organizing laws and not to dispose of state lands outside the supervision of the Authority. The Prime Minister praised the administrative and technical reforms in the two authorities, stressing that the government will not tolerate any manipulation or tampering with state lands or citizens' properties, and that it is continuing to provide an attractive investment environment and stimulate national and foreign projects in a way that contributes to achieving sustainable development.
