Arab Sea - Follow-ups: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Sunday a new agreement with Greece to supply gas to Ukraine, as part of his country's efforts to secure its energy needs during the winter, amid declining domestic production due to ongoing Russian attacks. Zelensky said in a statement on Telegram: "We have prepared an agreement with Greece to be an additional route for gas imports, and to ensure the provision of winter supplies as much as possible." He explained that Kyiv has allocated about two billion euros ($2.3 billion) to compensate for the decline in domestic production, noting that the funding will be supported by the European Commission, European and Ukrainian banks, with continued coordination with American partners to ensure full coverage of energy needs. Zelensky's announcement came ahead of his expected visit to Greece, with his tour later including France and Spain. He also pointed out that Ukraine is working to expand supply options through cooperation with Poland and Azerbaijan, and exploring the possibility of signing long-term contracts. It is noteworthy that Russia has intensified its strikes on energy facilities and vital infrastructure in Ukraine in the fourth year of the war, exacerbating the energy crisis in the country.
