Arab Sea - Follow-ups: U.S. President Donald Trump revealed that he is considering approving a potential deal to sell F-35 stealth aircraft to Saudi Arabia, noting Riyadh's desire to purchase a large number of advanced American fighters. Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One, "The Saudis want to buy a lot of F-35s, even more than that," confirming that he is considering the request based on a direct Saudi request. These statements come ahead of an expected visit by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the White House, where economic and defense agreements are expected to be signed. Trump described the upcoming meeting as more than just a meeting, saying, "We honor Saudi Arabia." He also expressed his hope that Saudi Arabia would join the Abraham Accords, which contributed to normalizing relations between Israel and a number of Islamic countries, despite Riyadh's insistence on the need to reach an agreement on the establishment of a Palestinian state first. However, the deal faces criticism from within the U.S. Department of Defense, as The New York Times quoted intelligence sources warning of the risk of the aircraft's technology leaking to China if the agreement proceeds.
