Arabian Sea - Yemen - Follow-ups: The Yemeni government has approved a strategic project to establish a crude oil refinery in the port of Al-Dhaba, in the Hadramout Governorate, with a production capacity of up to 25,000 barrels per day, according to Governor Mabkhout bin Madhi. Governor bin Madhi pointed out, during a meeting of the Executive Office in Wadi Hadramout and the desert, chaired by him, to the government's approval and endorsement of a strategic project aimed at bringing about a qualitative shift in economic development. The governor said, "Government Resolution No. 15 of 2025 stipulates the establishment of a crude oil refinery, storage tanks, and a free zone in the Al-Dhaba area, with a production capacity of up to 25,000 barrels per day." He also pointed out that the economic reforms taken by the government to improve the local currency represent the beginning of recovery, stressing the need to protect these reforms. He called on everyone to support the government's decisions to address the conditions of citizens by reducing manipulation and lowering prices. Bin Madhi pointed to the repercussions of the suffocating economic crisis that affected the country, praising the dedication of the members of the Executive Office in preserving state institutions, security, and stability in Hadramout. He explained that the governorate was economically affected due to the cessation of exports of resources and derivatives, and the cutting off of grants, stressing that the local authority continued to run the governorate's affairs and services, overcoming obstacles and welcoming full transparency for regulatory and community bodies.
