Iranian media reported that the authorities are following a woman named Kolsoum Akbari, who is believed to be a serial killer, and is currently on trial after confessing to killing 11 men who were all her husbands over two decades. The story of these serial crimes began in 2001, but the victims were all elderly and mostly sick, and no one suspected their deaths, and they did not follow the story until 2023, after the death of one of her husbands in a mysterious way. The mysterious circumstances of Kolsoum's husband's death prompted his sons to file an official report with the authorities to open a comprehensive investigation into the case. During the trial, the families of four victims demanded retribution, and the accused tried to evade the charge, but as soon as the court presented a video clip in which she re-enacted the crime, she admitted that her previous confessions were correct. The defense lawyer requested a psychological examination for his client, but the prosecution confirmed that the crimes were carried out using carefully selected drugs, which proves a deliberate criminal behavior and not the result of a mental disorder.
