Arab Sea_Follow-ups: The Early Warning Center for Disasters and Multiple Hazards in Hadramout Governorate has warned of an approaching severe depression that will hit the eastern coast of the governorate on Sunday evening, carrying thunderstorms and heavy rains that may lead to devastating floods. The Early Warning Center in Hadramout has begun issuing alerts regarding the approach of a dangerous depression, the impact of which will begin on the eastern coast of the governorate on Sunday evening, August 17, 2025, and continue until dawn on Tuesday, August 19, according to initial estimates. The center explained that the districts expected to be directly affected include: Ghayl Bin Yamin, Al-Soum, Sah, the countryside of Mukalla, Hajar, Doan, Amd, Al-Dhalia Yabaath, Rakhia, Wadi Al-Ain Houra, Labna Barashid area, in addition to some southern villages in Wadi Hadramout. According to the warnings, the depression will bring heavy rains accompanied by strong thunderstorms, which increases the chances of sudden flash floods in the valleys and areas of soil slope, posing a real danger to the lives and property of citizens. The center confirmed in its statement that the decrease in the level of horizontal visibility will be one of the side effects of this bad weather, calling on citizens to stay away from flood streams and low-lying areas, and not to try to cross valleys, especially at night when the risks are doubled.
