Yemen: Meteorology warns of frost in the highlands and hot weather during the day in the coasts and deserts.

The Weather Forecast and Early Warning Center at the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology predicted today, Saturday, that the coastal areas will witness clear to partly cloudy weather, humid and hot during the day with moderate temperatures at night, in addition to the possibility of light and scattered rain on the southern and southwestern coasts and the Socotra archipelago. The center pointed to active winds on Socotra, the southwestern coasts, Mayyun Island, Bab al-Mandab, and neighboring areas. In the mountainous highlands, the bulletin predicted dry and moderate weather during the day, turning cold and very cold at night and early morning with the possibility of frost and fog formation in some areas. It also expected the atmosphere in the desert and plateau areas to be clear to partly cloudy, hot during the day and cold to very cold at night. The bulletin mentioned the temperatures recorded in a number of cities today, where they reached in the coastal areas: Aden (30/24), Mukalla (29/23), Hodeidah (32/25), Socotra (31/21), Mocha (31/23), Al-Ghaida (32/19), Zanzibar (31/23), Lahj (29/21). In the desert and plateau areas: Seiyun (29/16), Marib (28/13), Ataq (29/16), Baihan (27/13). As for the mountainous highlands: Sana'a (25/4), Taiz (26/12), Dhamar (21/3), Al-Dhalea (26/8), Ibb (25/7), Al-Bayda (20/4). The center called on citizens, especially the elderly and children in the mountainous and desert areas, to take precautions against the sharp drop in temperatures at night. It also alerted farmers, livestock breeders, and beekeepers to the need to protect their crops and wealth from expected frost waves. In the marine bulletin, the center expected the sea to be light in wave on the coasts of Al-Mahra, Hadhramaut, and Shabwa, and light to moderate on the coasts of Abyan, Aden, Bab al-Mandab, the western coasts, and the Socotra archipelago, while the sea state in the Gulf of Aden will be light, in the Arabian Sea moderate, and in the Red Sea moderate to turbulent. It warned fishermen and seafarers in Socotra, the southwestern and western coasts, Bab al-Mandab, Mayyun Island, the Gulf of Aden, and the Red Sea of wave turbulence and its rise.
