Arabian Sea - Britain - Follow-ups: Elon Musk's Neuralink has announced the launch of clinical trials in Britain to test brain chips that allow people with paralysis to control digital devices using neural signals alone. The company stated in a post on the "X" platform that it is collaborating with UCLH and Newcastle Hospitals to conduct the study, noting that people with spinal cord injuries or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) are eligible to participate. Neuralink began its first human trials in 2024 after overcoming safety objections raised by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Five patients are currently using implanted chips to control devices. The company was founded in 2016, has raised approximately $1.3 billion in funding, and is valued at approximately $9 billion.
