Her agent, Michael Green, confirmed that Kirkland passed away on Tuesday morning at a hospital in Palm Springs, California, after a period of health suffering that required constant medical care. Kirkland, who was born in New York in 1941, was known for her exceptional talent and strong presence on stage, film, and television, where she participated in prominent works alongside Paul Newman and Robert Redford in the film "The Sting."
