Arab Sea - Follow-ups: US President Donald Trump sparked a new controversy with his statements during a lengthy press conference in the Oval Office, where he announced that he is considering renaming the Department of Defense to become the "Department of War," stressing that the current name is "too defensive," while the United States - according to him - "wants to be offensive as well." Trump, 79, said that the renaming does not require congressional approval, noting that the department was known as the "Department of War" from its founding in 1789 until 1949. In the context of defending his security policies, which have been described as authoritarian, Trump said: "Many say maybe we want a dictator, but I am not a dictator... I have common sense and intelligence." Trump also signed an executive order stipulating that anyone who burns the American flag will be punished with a full year in prison, even though the Supreme Court had considered this act a form of free expression in 1989. In addition, the Republican president launched an attack on his political opponents from the Democratic Party, including Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, whom he described as "dirty," and California Governor Gavin Newsom, in addition to former President Joe Biden, whom he called "stupid." Trump also threatened to use the army in the city of Chicago after deploying the National Guard in Washington, D.C., speaking of "internal threats," while displaying the FIFA World Cup trophy that FIFA President Gianni Infantino gave him, in a remarkable scene from the conference. His speech was not without interesting digressions, as he addressed the problems of Asian carp in the Great Lakes, describing it as a "violent fish coming from China that jumps into boats," warning that dealing with this environmental crisis would be very costly.
