Arab Gulf - Agencies: London's Metropolitan Police said that 146 people have come forward to report a crime as part of its investigation into the case of former Harrods owner Mohamed Al-Fayed. According to the British news agency (PA Media), the number of reports was revealed in a pictorial update sent to alleged victims earlier this week. This comes a month after the Metropolitan Police apologized to the alleged victims for the pain they suffered. The Metropolitan Police is currently investigating how it handled historical allegations of these crimes committed by Al-Fayed, and will also investigate anyone who may have facilitated or enabled his crimes and whether any misconduct or corruption occurred. In November, police said they were investigating more than five people who may have facilitated the alleged sexual assault by the former Harrods boss on dozens of women and girls. The police are also taking into consideration the individuals surrounding the businessman who may have facilitated his commission of the crimes, which are said to have spanned decades between 1977 and 2014. The Metropolitan Police also faces allegations of police corruption, with The Guardian reporting that police officers are accused of taking bribes to help him persecute workers and avoid misconduct charges.
