The Israeli army spokesman issued a warning today, Sunday, to Iranians residing near nuclear reactors in Iran to evacuate their homes. In a post in Persian published by Avichay Adraee via the X platform, he stated, "We urge everyone present at this hour or in the near future in all weapons reactors in Iran and their supporting entities... for your safety, we ask you to evacuate these facilities immediately... and not to return to them until further notice. Being near these facilities endangers your lives." Adraee also clarified that the warning includes all weapons factories and their supporting facilities in Iran. The Israeli army announced that it targeted, at dawn on Sunday, the headquarters of the Iranian Ministry of Defense and sites linked to the infrastructure of the "nuclear weapons project" and other targets. In a statement, it said that its air forces carried out around 2:40 AM (23:40 GMT on Saturday) "a wide series of intelligence-based strikes on a number of targets in Tehran related to the Iranian regime's nuclear weapons project, as well as fuel depots." It also added that "the targets included the headquarters of the Iranian Ministry of Defense, the headquarters of the Defense Innovation and Research Organization for the nuclear project, and additional targets." "Red line" In response, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi announced on Sunday that Israel "crossed a new red line" by targeting Iranian nuclear sites in the strikes it has been carrying out since Friday. He also stated that responding to Israel is a legitimate right according to international laws, indicating that the Iranian attacks will continue. Israel and Iran have exchanged attacks over the past three days, after Israeli forces launched a series of raids on numerous Iranian sites last Friday, targeting nuclear facilities, military bases, as well as carrying out assassinations targeting senior military leaders and nuclear scientists, two days before a sixth round of US-Iranian nuclear negotiations that were expected today in Muscat.
