Arab Sea Newspaper - Follow-ups:

The U.S. Transportation Security Administration announced that the number of travelers who passed through security checkpoints on Sunday reached 3.13 million, the highest number recorded in a single day in the history of air travel in the United States. This record number came at the peak of the Thanksgiving travel season, despite the bad weather in the Midwest. The previous record was recorded on June 22nd and amounted to 3.09 million travelers. Airlines for America reported that U.S. airlines expect to carry about 31 million passengers during the eleven-day travel period ending on Monday. The Federal Aviation Administration also predicted that more than 360,000 flights would be carried out during the period ending on December 2nd, the highest rate in 15 years. The Transportation Security Administration had only exceeded the three million passenger mark in a single day twice before 2024, but it did so eight times in 2025, indicating an increase in air travel. The number of travelers monitored by the administration also rose to 904 million in 2024, an increase of 5% over 2023, amid an expansion in the workforce of about 60,000 employees.
