Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called on Britain on Friday to adhere to the "One China" principle, amid Beijing's efforts to rally support in the face of escalating diplomatic tensions with Tokyo over democratic Taiwan. The Chinese Defense Ministry warned on Thursday that Japan would pay a "heavy price" if it crossed the red line on Taiwan, in response to Japan's plans to deploy missiles on an island about 100 kilometers from the coast of Taiwan.
