Arab Sea Newspaper - Agencies:

The Israeli Ministry of Defense announced the arrival of the 1000th aircraft as part of the ongoing military air bridge since the outbreak of the war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, confirming that this operation represents the largest transcontinental logistical effort in Israel's history to support its stock of weapons and ammunition. The ministry said that the aircraft, which landed at Ben Gurion Airport, is part of unprecedented transfer operations carried out by the ministry and the army over two years, aimed at meeting urgent and future military needs. It explained that Israel has so far imported more than 120,000 tons of military equipment, combat equipment, and protection equipment via a thousand aircraft and about 150 ships, as part of ongoing efforts to replenish the emergency stock and ensure the continuity of combat operations. The ministry confirmed that the supplies came as a result of close cooperation with the United States and Germany, and included the purchase and transfer of advanced weapons, armored vehicles, communication systems, medical equipment, and personal protection supplies, which it described as an essential element in maintaining the ability of the Israeli security system to meet the needs of combat units across various fronts. The Director-General of the Israeli Ministry of Defense, Major General (Res.) Amir Baram, said that the ministry "has led a tremendous effort over the past two years to ensure the provision of combat equipment, industrial and technological equipment, and everything the army requires to continue its operations," stressing that the pace of supplies reflects the size of the field challenges. In a parallel development, the Hebrew newspaper Maariv revealed that Canada is still sending military equipment to Israel despite Ottawa's announcement of a ban on arms exports to it. According to a previous documentation by the "Arms Ban Now" coalition, Canada continued to send dozens of military shipments during the past period, including: 47 shipments of military components and parts to Israeli manufacturing companies. 421,070 bullets transferred to Israel since the start of the Gaza war, including one shipment in April 2025 containing 175,000 bullets. 3 shipments of cartridges, one of which was sent only 9 days after the Canadian Foreign Minister pledged to stop ammunition exports. 391 shipments including ammunition, weapon parts, aircraft components, communication devices, and various military equipment. These details come amid the ongoing international debate about the continued flow of weapons to Israel, in light of the escalating accusations of their use in the war on Gaza and the resulting widespread violations.
