Australia and Indonesia announce strong security treaty.

Arab Sea - Follow-ups: Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced today, Wednesday, at a joint press conference in Sydney with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, that an agreement had been reached on a new security treaty between the two countries. The treaty stipulates that the two neighbors are committed to consulting in the event that either of them is exposed to a security threat, and to expanding the scope of defense and security cooperation. Albanese explained that the treaty is an advanced step on previous agreements, as it includes a commitment to conduct a regular security dialogue between leaders, stressing that joint cooperation is the best way to ensure regional peace and stability. For his part, Indonesian President Prabowo stressed the importance of this treaty in strengthening bilateral relations, saying: "We are determined to maintain close relations to enhance the security of our countries and ensure their stability."
