Arabian Sea_Reuters: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi noted a positive trend in relations with China during his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Sunday, saying there was a commitment to developing relations between the two countries on the basis of trust and respect. Modi is visiting China for the first time in seven years and spoke to Xi on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit. This is the second meeting between the two leaders, the first being in Russia last year. Relations between the Asian rivals have improved since they reached an agreement in October on patrolling their disputed border in the Himalayan region after a clash between the two sides in which people were killed in 2020.
